Biography

A distinguished physician and researcher, pathologist Mark G. Hanly, M.D., FCAP, completed his medical degree at the Godfrey Huggins School of Medicine, University of Rhodesia. He trained in pathology at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, the Medical College of Georgia and the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas, specializing in tumor pathology.

Dr. Hanly is board-certified in anatomical pathology and cytopathology. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists and a member of the International Academy of Cytology. He has special interest and expertise in fine-needle aspiration cytology of the breast and general breast and oncology pathology. Dr. Hanly is the clinical associate professor of Pathology at the Medical College of Georgia teaching breast pathology to medical students and pathology residents. A published author and frequent lecturer at national and international symposia, Dr. Hanly is the inaugural chair of the Health System’s multi-disciplinary Breast Conference.

Dr. Hanly, along with all of our Breast Care Center physicians, is a dedicated specialist who focuses on addressing patient concerns with sensitivity and kindness.

The presentations are designed to familiarize medical professionals and the community on Haitian issues and provide an opportunity for those qualified to receive continuing education credits.
