Jelisa Carroll, D.O., is a board-certified family medicine physician at
Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Primary Care in St. Marys, Georgia. As a doctor of osteopathy, she treats the whole
person, evaluating lifestyle, home and work life, as well as health symptoms
and concerns. Patients from children to seniors in need of wellness checks
and preventative care as well as treatment of acute and chronic illness
benefit from Dr. Carroll’s attentive and professional care.
Dr. Carroll’s love of science, interest in human anatomy, and desire
to serve others led her to pursue a medical career. After earning her
medical degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine’s
Suwanee, Georgia campus, she completed a family medicine residency at
the Wellspan Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. During
her studies, she discovered her interest in a broad spectrum of medicine
and decided that family medicine, with its opportunity to treat all ages
for a variety of conditions, was a perfect match.
Whether her patients are at their happiest or most vulnerable, Dr. Carroll
is prepared to listen, inform, and involve them in their own care. Her
patient-centered approach to medicine values each patient as a unique
individual and an equal member of their health care team.
Joining Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Primary Care is truly a
full-circle experience for Dr. Carroll. She was born at the Health System
and grew up in McIntosh County. Seeing the health care challenges faced
by her community, she was eager to return home and be of service.
When not at her office, Dr. Carroll joins her husband in caring for their
two small children. Her other favorite pastimes include watching and playing
sports, trying new foods and traveling (pre-pandemic.)
