Institutional Review Board
Principal investigators from a multitude of organizations conduct research
projects at Southeast Georgia Health System in multiple disciplines. These
research studies evaluate new and existing medicines, technologies and
technics for the screening, prevention and treatment of disease.
The Health System’s Institutional Review Board (IRB) is committed
to conducting the ethical review of all activities involving human subjects
and research conducted within the Health System or using Health System
resources.
It is the IRB’s charge to protect the rights and welfare of individuals
participating in human subjects research. In doing so, the IRB provides
initial and continuing review for human subjects research projects.
