Breast Cancer Awareness Month
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Health System is implementing
the below initiatives to help raise awareness and promote breast health!
Community “Pink Out Friday”
Friday, Oct. 12: The community is invited to join the Health System in wearing pink on Pink
Out Friday in support of the women and men diagnosed with breast cancer.
We encourage everyone to wear pink on Friday, Oct. 12. Then, share your
“Pink Out Friday” photo on social media using the hash tag
#PinkOut2018. Be sure to like the Health System’s Facebook page
for more Pink Out Photos! Connecting with our social media page is a great
way to keep up to date on Health System services, news and happenings.

Pink Friday Games
Brunswick High School, Frederica Academy, Glynn Academy and McIntosh Academy
are also participating in the Health System’s Breast Cancer Awareness
festivities with “Pink Friday Games” during their October
football home games. The Health System will provide a pink ribbon image
on the field, pink wristbands for players and pink pom poms for cheerleaders.

Join us for a Girls Night Out! We invite you, your girlfriends, moms and
sisters to a fun and educational evening of pampering, polish and pink
power. Mammos & ManiCURES will provide an opportunity to meet members
of the Health System’s breast care team as well as provide important
breast health information, clinical breast exams, screening mammograms
with a physician’s order, bra measurements, mini manicures and facials,
healthy food demonstrations and much more! Mammogram screening appointments
are recommended, but walk-ins are welcome. For more information or to

Thursday, Oct. 11, 6-8 p.m. The event will take place on the Brunswick Campus in the Outpatient Care
Center, 2500 Starling St.
Thursday, Oct. 18, 6-8 p.m. The event will take place on the Camden Campus in the Conference Center,

ARTrageous Bras Fundraiser
Exibits
Oct. 1-31: The ARTrageous Bras exhibit will be on display at the Brunswick and Camden
campuses. Votes will be collected at the Guest Services desks on the Brunswick
and Camden campuses, the Foundation office and
online. You may vote for as many bras as often as you wish for only $1 per vote.
Silent and Live Auction
Friday, Nov. 2, 6-7:30 p.m.: The ARTrageous Bras silent and live auction will be held at The Historic
Ritz Theatre in downtown Brunswick. Proceeds benefit the Health System
cancer care programs
Make Breast Care a Routine for Life
Patients receiving mammograms during October will receive a breast cancer
awareness gift, and those who complete a breast health quiz will be entered
in a drawing to win a gift bag. Drawing will take place at the end of
the month and winner will be notified.
Pretty in Pink
The Health System is decorated for Breast Cancer Awareness Month with large
ribbons in the lobbies of the Brunswick and Camden campuses and the Senior
Care Centers and pink flags on light posts. Nursing teams will wear pink
gloves, surgical teams will wear pink surgical caps, and the cafeterias
will serve pink desserts.
