  • The Joint Commission National Quality Approval award

    The Joint Commission

    The Health System's Brunswick and Camden campus hospitals are accredited by The Joint Commission, an independent, not-for-profit organization that accredits and certifies more than 20,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization's commitment to meeting certain performance standards.

    The Joint Commission also recognized the Brunswick Campus hospital as a certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center and the Camden Campus as an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital, both providing Disease-Specific Care.


  • Commission on Cancer Accredited Program Award

    American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer

    The Commission on Cancer (CoC) Accreditation Program encourages hospitals, treatment centers and other facilities to improve their quality of patient care through various cancer-related programs. These programs focus on prevention, early diagnosis, pre-treatment evaluation, staging, optimal treatment, rehabilitation, surveillance for recurrent disease, support services and end-of-life care.


  • ACR American College of Radiology Accredited Facility Award

    American College of Radiology

    The following services at the Brunswick Campus Department of Radiology are accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR): mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, computerized tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and nuclear medicine. Nuclear medicine and mammography services at the Camden Campus Department of Radiology are also accredited by ACR, as are the ultrasound, computerized tomography and magnetic resonance imaging services at MRI & Imaging. The ACR awards accreditation to facilities for the achievement of high practice standards after a peer-review evaluation of its practice. Image quality and procedure evaluations are conducted by board-certified radiologists and medical physicists who are experts in the field. The program also evaluates personnel qualifications, adequacy of facility equipment, quality control procedures and quality assurance programs.


  • College of American Pathologists Award

    College of American Pathologists

    Laboratory and Transfusion Services at Southeast Georgia Health System Brunswick and Camden campuses are accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP). The CAP is the world’s largest association composed exclusively of board-certified pathologists and is widely considered the leader in laboratory quality assurance as well as an advocate for high quality and cost-effective pathology and laboratory medicine worldwide. To receive this accreditations, facilities must meet or exceed high standards of regulatory requirements in several areas, including but not limited to specimen collection and handling, automated differential counters, abnormal hemoglobin detection and bone marrow preparations.

    Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) are the United States federal regulatory standards that apply to all clinical laboratory testing performed on humans in the United States, except clinical trials and basic research.

    The diabetes education programs at the Southeast Georgia Health System Brunswick and Camden campuses have been Recognized by the American Diabetes Association for providing Quality Self-Management Education* and Support.

    Southeast Georgia Health System Brunswick Campus is “Baby-Friendly”

    Based on the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding, this prestigious international award recognizes hospitals and birth facilities that offer breastfeeding mothers the information, confidence and skills needed to successfully initiate and continue breastfeeding their babies. The “Baby-Friendly” designation is given after a rigorous on-site survey is completed, and the award is maintained by continuing to practice the Ten Steps as demonstrated by quality processes.
