System Presents "Steel Magnolias" Exhibition, Sponsoring Play

BRUNSWICK, Georgia: Feb.28, 2007 – Southeast Georgia Health System is currently hosting the art exhibit "Steel Magnolias" in the Outpatient Care Center Art Gallery, 2500 Starling St., Brunswick. The exhibition coincides with the Island Players production of the play "Steel Magnolias," which the Health System is sponsoring. The Steel Magnolias Exhibition is a collection of watercolors, oil paintings and drawings depicting the magnolia grandiflora. Local artists represented are Pat Rusk, Nancy Muldowney, Glenda Cason, Jeannine Cook, Marjette Schille, Ellen Moriarty, Joyce Ledingham, Barbara Mueller, Mary Moore, Gail McCrimmon Johnson, Dan Goad, Tommy McMillan, and Laurie Violette. This free exhibit will be on display through the end of March, and is open to the public from 9a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.

The play, “Steel Magnolias,” will be presented at the Island Players Downtown, 1408/11 Newcastle St., Brunswick March 9-11, 15-18, and 22-25, with evening performances at 8 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 3 p.m. Tickets for the play are $20 for adults, and $5 for students (age 18 and under).
