Putting an end to joint and back pain
At the Orthopaedic & Spine Center, we have assembled a team of experienced, highly trained and compassionate surgeons, pain management specialists, nurses, physical therapists and athletic trainers who deliver seamlessly integrated, carefully coordinated care. Here, in this single location on our Brunswick Campus, you will receive the latest treatments designed to help you quickly return to your daily life.
The concept behind the Orthopaedic & Spine Center goes well beyond the hospital stay to encompass the entire experience. Our team members pay special attention to ensuring you understand your procedure, what you need to do before surgery, and what to expect afterward.
Orthopaedic & Spine Center – A facility like no other
The Orthopaedic & Spine Center is designed like a fine hotel, beautifully decorated with designer touches such as rich cherry wood paneling and warm tones. The spacious, suite-style private patient rooms allow increased patient maneuverability and include recliners for comfortable patient sitting, showers and toilets designed to accommodate patient needs, sleeper sofas for overnight guests and upgraded patient monitoring systems.
For enjoyment, each well-appointed room includes a flat-screen cable TV and DVD, wireless internet access, and daily delivery of The Brunswick News, all at no additional cost. Design touches such as the art-glass walls of the dining and rehabilitation rooms add a level of refinement for a classic but functional approach.
The opportunity to move around the Center and interact with other patients creates a very supportive environment which is a key to a positive outcome. Individual therapy and group sessions are held in a large rehabilitation room on the same floor; previously, patients had to go elsewhere in the hospital for therapy services.
An expert care team
The Orthopaedic & Spine Center has a distinguished staff of board-certified surgeons who are knowledgeable, experienced and trained in the latest minimally invasive techniques, as well as a team of highly trained nurses who specialize in orthopaedic and spine patient care. The health care team ensures that you understand your procedure and what you should expect during the recovery process. After surgery, skilled physical and/or occupational therapists will provide therapy designed to maximize function and hasten recovery.
Our accomplished spine surgeons use advanced, specialized procedures to treat a range of spinal problems related to degenerative conditions, fractures and cancer. Whenever possible they use minimally invasive techniques to promote a speedier recovery.
Common conditions we treat include:
- Degenerative disc disease
- Compression fractures
- Herniated disc
- Bone spurs
- Neck and back pain
- Spinal cord compression
- Spinal stenosis
To help prepare patients for what to expect throughout their spine surgery journey, we offer a Spine Surgery Education book to all our spine care patients. Patients receive a hard copy of this book during their spine surgery classes, but you may also access a digital version of this book here.
