Nutrition Basics & Beyond Seminar
January 31, 2007--The Bariatric Care Center at Southeast Georgia Health System and Bariatric Advantage will present “Nutrition Basics and Beyond,” a free seminar designed for current and future weight loss surgery patients and their loved ones. Leading author and nutrition specialist Jacqueline Jacques, ND, will be the speaker for this event on Monday, Feb. 5, from 7:30-8:30 p.m. in Conference Room 1 at the Southeast Georgia Health System Brunswick Campus, 2415 Parkwood Drive.
Dr. Jacques will speak on the basics of protein and micronutrients for weight loss patients. This presentation covers the selection of protein products—including meal replacements—vitamins, and minerals.
A naturopathic doctor with more than a decade of expertise in medical nutrition, Dr. Jacques has spent much of her career in the dietary supplement industry, as a formulator, speaker, writer, and educator. She is the chief science officer for Catalina Lifesciences LLC, a company dedicated to providing nutritional care to weight-loss surgery patients. Dr. Jacques also appears as a guest on radio and television, and regularly writes articles for trade publications. She has just completed writing a clinical guidebook called Micronutrition for the Weight Loss Surgery Patient. In addition to working with the Obesity Action Coalition, Dr. Jacques also serves on the board of the Samueli Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of California, Irvine.
