New Director of Wound Care Center Named

BRUNSWICK, Georgia: May 22, 2008 – Dani DePalma has been appointed as the new director of the Southeast Georgia Health System Wound Care Center. The Center, located adjacent to the Health System’s Brunswick Campus, is the only service of its kind in the region.

DePalma earned a Bachelor’s degree in dietetics with a minor in science from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro. She completed an internship with Long-term Care Management Corporation in Murfreesboro and completed Zenger-Miller Management Training at Emory University in Atlanta. Before joining the Health System, she worked in acute, sub-acute, and long-term care facilities throughout Georgia and Florida. She has also held positions at Wesley Woods Geriatric Center at Emory University, Novartis Nutrition Corporation, and HealthCare Dimensions.

“Dani has extensive experience in assessing patient wounds through her clinical background in nutrition and long-term care,” says DelRia Tate, vice president responsible for the Wound Care Center. “She also brings to the table years of experience in management and marketing; all of those pieces fit perfectly into the role of directing our Wound Care Center. I am thrilled to welcome her to our team.”

For her part, DePalma, who decided to move to the Golden Isles after visiting the area, says she is looking forward to settling into her new position. “I really like the variety that is within my new role,” DePalma says. “We have a great mix of people on our team and I look forward to coordinating all of our efforts and getting out into the community.”
