Multiple Sclerosis Seminar to be Held At Southeast Georgia Health System

BRUNSWICK, Georgia: Feb. 15, 2012– Lori A. Trefts, M.D. will be the featured speaker at a free seminar about multiple sclerosis (MS) on Thursday, Feb. 23, at 6 p.m. The event, which includes dinner, will take place in the Linda S. Pinson Conference Center at the Southeast Georgia Health System Brunswick Campus, 2415 Parkwood Drive. The benefits of Gilenya, a prescription medication used to treat relapsing forms of MS in adults, will be discussed.

Trefts is a board-certified neurologist at Southeast Georgia Health System Physician Associates-Neurosciences, a strategic affiliate of the Health System. She earned her medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine. Trefts completed her residency in neurology and a fellowship in clinical multiple sclerosis at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and served as a member of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Hampton Road Chapter Board of Trustees in 2009.
