Health System Offering Free Lecture on Eating Disorders in Adolescents
BRUNSWICK, Georgia: April 1, 2008 – As part of Southeast Georgia Health System’s ongoing free community lecture series, pediatrician Veronica Manka, MD, will make a presentation on eating disorders in adolescents. This educational event is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at the Camden County Recreation Center, 1050 Wildcat Drive, Kingsland. Dr. Manka will address a variety of disorders including anorexia and bulimia, what parents should look for, how to prevent eating disorders and treatment options for eating disorders. Following her talk, a question and answer session will be held.
Dr. Manka is a graduate of The Ohio University College of Medicine and completed her residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii. She is currently the chief of pediatrics at the Southeast Georgia Health System Camden Campus in St. Marys. Dr. Manka is in practice with fellow pediatrician Renali Agbayani, MD, at Pediatrics-Southeast Georgia Physician Associates, a strategic affiliate of the Health System.
