Health System Offering Free Lecture on Colorectal Disease

BRUNSWICK, Georgia: March 4, 2008 – As part of Southeast Georgia Health System’s ongoing free community lecture series, gastroenterologist Vantuil Varges, MD, will make a presentation on Colorectal Disease. This educational event is scheduled for Tuesday, March 11, at the Camden County Recreation Center, 1050 Wildcat Drive, Kingsland. Dr. Varges will discuss what colorectal disease is and what diagnostic and treatment options are available for the whole spectrum of colorectal diseases, including inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and benign and malignant colon and rectal cancers. Following his talk, a question and answer session will be held.

Dr. Varges is board certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology. He earned his medical degree from Rio de Janeiro State University, completed his residency at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ohio, and completed a fellowship at the State University of New York (SUNY). Dr. Varges is a former chief of staff of the Health System’s Camden Campus medical staff and his office is located at 96 B Lakeshore Drive, St. Marys.
