Health System Names New Practice Manager For Summit

BRUNSWICK, Georgia: May 15, 2008 – Lynn Massalon has been appointed as the new practice manager of Summit Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Surgery. Cooperative Healthcare Services, Inc. (CHSI), a strategic affiliate of Southeast Georgia Health System operates Summit, which has offices in Brunswick and St. Marys.

Massalon attended the University of South Carolina and began her professional career at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, where she held a number of leadership positions. She relocated to the Golden Isles in 2001 to join the Health System, first as a physician healthcare organization credentialing coordinator, then as an executive assistant to the administrator at the Health System’s Camden Campus. In 2004, she was appointed manger of Medical Staff and Administrative Services, and in 2006, she was appointed as a practice manager of CHS Inc.’s three specialty medical practices, Diabetes and Endocrinology Care Center, Infectious Disease Care Center, and the Community Care Center.

“Lynn has been instrumental in the development and growth of the Community Care Center, as well as a number of other practices,” says Michelle Parrish-Morris, Health System Assistant Vice President. “I am very pleased with Lynn’s recent appointment as the manager at Summit and know that she will bring the same professionalism and determination to that role as she has to our other practices and care centers. We are all proud of what she has accomplished.”

Massalon is a member of the Georgia Association and National Association of Medical Staff Services, as well as a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and Medical Group Management Association. She was previously a member of Kingsland First United Methodist Church and an active volunteer of youth services and is currently a member of First Baptist Church in Brunswick.
