Health System Art Gallery Hosts "Rythm Cycles"
BRUNSWICK, Georgia: Nov. 11, 2008— The works of Brunswick artist Sue Russell are currently on display at the Southeast Georgia Health System Outpatient Care Center Art Gallery, 2500 Starling St., Brunswick. The exhibit, “Rhythm Cycles,” is comprised of a series of vibrant paintings using bicycles as a catalyst.
Russell has a Bachelor’s degree in graphic design from the University of Georgia and a Master’s degree from Arizona State University. She has 30 years experience teaching and exhibiting art in the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Germany and currently shows her work at Art Downtown/Gallery 209 in Brunswick and The Little Art Gallery in Raleigh, NC.
Russell and her husband, Padgett Cleveland, lived and worked in Saudi Arabia and Germany and traveled around the world with backpacks, sketchbooks, cameras and journals. They returned to the states in 2000 and now reside in Brunswick and Cedar Mountain, NC, where she directs Hemlocks Studio, a summer artists' retreat center.
This free exhibit of her works will be on display through Dec. 8, and is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. The paintings on display are also for sale and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Health System Foundation.
