Health System Announces New Facilities Management Director

Promoting from within and developing the strengths of existing team members has long been a tradition of Southeast Georgia Health System, evidenced by the promotion of Stanford "Tripp" Stephens III to director of Facilities Management.

As director, Stephens’ areas of responsibility include plant operations, biomedical engineering, construction, environmental services, laundry, linen, and central transportation for the Health System.

Stephens joined the Health System in late 2009 as the manager of Facilities Management. Prior to that time, he served as assistant director of Plant Operations at Sumter Regional Hospital in Americus, Ga. Stephens earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Georgia Southwestern State University. Through the American Hospital Association, he is a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager, Certified Healthcare Constructor, and Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional. He also holds an Unrestricted Electrical License (Masters) through the Secretary of State’s Office.

In 2012, Stephens was selected by the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) to receive the Emerging Regional Leader Award, a prominent national award that recognizes 10 exceptional individuals, one from each ASHE region, for their exemplary leadership skills and their commitment to the field of health care facility management. He was a graduate of Leadership GHA (Georgia Hospital Association) in 2008, and was named Engineer of the Year by the Georgia Society of Healthcare Engineers in 2010.
