Free Diabetes Workshops in Camden County: Achieve Your Target Zone

BRUNSWICK, Georgia: Oct. 30, 2007 – If you are seeking a better understanding of how the food you eat and the insulin you take affect your glucose levels, this free series of three classes is for you. This intensive insulin management program will assist you in learning how to match your insulin dose to your food intake which will help you manage your diabetes more effectively and with greater flexibility.

This first class will be held on Thursday, Nov. 15, from 6-8 p.m. in the diabetic classroom on the third floor of the Southeast Georgia Health System Camden Campus, 2000 Dan Proctor Drive, St. Marys. It will cover basal/bolus insulin, basic carbohydrate counting and proper treatment of hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia. The second class will be held in the same location on Thursday, Nov. 29, from 6-8 p.m., while the third class will also be held in the same location on Thursday, Dec. 6, from 6,8 p.m. Attendance at all three classes is required. However, makeup session of the second and third classes are possible.
