BRUNSWICK, Georgia: April 4, 2008 – Quint Studer, CEO of the Studer Group, and one of the most sought after public speakers in the nation, recently spoke before a packed audience at a free lecture presented by Southeast Georgia Health System and Brenau University at the Health System’s Brunswick Campus. This lecture, a first in a series of free celebrity guest lectures, was designed as part of the curriculum for the MBA program with specialty in Healthcare Management cohort.
Studer has been named as one of the "Top 100 Most Powerful People" by Modern Healthcare. He has gained national recognition in USA Today, Inc. Magazine, Investor's Business Daily, and Modern Healthcare as a change agent and thought leader in health care today. Before founding Studer Group in 1999, Studer spent nearly 20 years inside health care, beginning in a staff position, later becoming chief operating officer of Holy Cross Hospital in Chicago and president of the Baptist Hospital Inc. in Pensacola, FL, where the hospital was awarded the Quality Cup by USA Today and Rochester Institute of Technology. At Holy Cross and Baptist, Studer led both organizations to the top one percent in employee and patient satisfaction compared to hospitals nationwide, as ranked by independent health care survey organizations. Studer is the author of Hardwiring Excellence and Results That Last among others.
According to Patrick Ebri, PhD, Health System Vice President, Human Resources this new lecture series is part of the curriculum for the MBA students, but it is also open to the public. “The series will expose the students and member of the community to industry leaders who have been successful and have shaped the future of the business and health care industry,” Ebri says. “Our aim is to have at least a couple of speakers through the two-year duration of the course.”
At the end of the lecture, Studer personally autographed books for each attendee. He also donated eighty copies of his book Hardwiring Excellence to the Health System, students and faculty of the Brenau program.
