Arthritis Exercise Program Coming Soon

BRUNSWICK, Georgia: Aug. 21, 2007 – According to the Arthritis Foundation, physical movement is the “arthritis pain reliever.” That is why the Southeast Georgia Health System is once again offering the Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program. This program is taught by an Arthritis Foundation-certified instructor and incorporates gentle exercises. These exercises help increase joint flexibility and range or motion and maintain muscle strength. Participants previously enrolled in the program have experienced such benefits as increased functional ability, increased self-care behaviors, decreased pain, and decreased depression.

The next session of classes begins Tuesday, Sept. 18, and will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3 p.m. for eight weeks in the Conference Center, first floor, of the Brunswick Campus, 2415 Parkwood Ave., Brunswick. The cost for the entire session of classes is $43. To register or for more information, call Diane Rancourt at (912) 466-1100 or contact her via email at drancourt@sghs.org.
