Elizabeth J. Gunn, R.N., MSN
Vice President of Patient Care Services
Elizabeth J. Gunn assumed the role of interim vice president of Patient Care Services in July 2009 and accepted the permanent position in October 2009. As vice president, her areas of responsibility are comprised of Nursing Practice for the entire Health System which consists of medical/surgical patient care and intensive care units, coronary care and progressive coronary care units, post-anesthesia care units, inpatient and outpatient surgery services, telemetry, pediatrics, dialysis, inpatient wound care, diabetes education, the Emergency Care Centers, Outpatient Surgery Services, Pharmacy services and Women's/Children's Services which also includes the Miriam & Hugh Nunnally Maternity Care Center.
Ms. Gunn joined the Health System in 2005 as assistant administrator for Patient Care Services at the Camden Campus and later Gunn served as the director of Quality Improvement for the Health System.
She has more than 26 years of health care experience with increasing leadership responsibilities including positions as the director of the Emergency Department and Emergency Psychiatric Clinical Decision Unit at Florida Hospital Orlando and the director of the Emergency Department & Endoscopy Diagnostic Unit at South Fulton Medical Center in East Point, Georgia.
Ms. Gunn earned an Associates degree in nursing from Wake County Technical College in Raleigh, North Carolina, before going on to complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Nursing Administration, both from the University of Texas at El Paso. She is a member of the Emergency Nurses Association, the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society for Nurses, the Association of Nurse Executives, and the American College of Healthcare Executives.
