Biography

Denny A. Carter, M.D. grew up in Georgia with a love of sports and the outdoors, playing in tennis tournaments throughout the south and spending time hunting and fishing. He was a national merit scholar and earned a full academic scholarship to Mississippi State University, graduating summa cum laude in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He then attended the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta where he finished with a 4.0 grade point average. He completed a surgical internship in Charleston, South Carolina before undergoing orthopaedic surgery residency training at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. At LSU, he gained valuable experience in orthopaedic trauma surgery at the famous Charity Hospital in New Orleans. Dr. Carter joined Summit Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Surgery in 2003, obtaining board certification by the American Board of Orthopaedic
