Breast Cancer Awareness Month
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Health System is implementing
the below initiatives to help raise awareness and promote breast health!
Ribbons of Hope
Sept. 20-Oct 27: Purchase a pink paper ribbon in honor or in memory of a loved one for only
$1 to line the walls of the Health System and promote awareness. Ribbons
will be sold in front of the cafeterias: Brunswick Campus on Tuesdays
& Thursdays and Camden Campus on Wednesdays. Proceeds benefit the
Health System breast care programs.
Julie Grimm Quilt Display
See this beautiful quilt made from Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and
American Cancer Society Relay For Life official T-shirts.
Oct. 1-14: Quilt will be displayed in the Art Gallery, Camden Campus.
Oct. 15-31: Quilt will be displayed in the Horton Gallery, Brunswick Campus.
ARTrageous Bras Exhibit & Live and Silent Auctions
The ARTrageous Bras exhibit will be on display at the Brunswick and Camden
campuses. Votes will be collected at the Guest Services desks on the Brunswick
and Camden campuses, the Foundation office, the Pink Ribbons of Hope sales
. You may vote for as many bras as often as you wish for only $1 per vote.
Nov. 4, 6-7:30 p.m.:
The ARTrageous Bras silent and live auctions will be held at the Ritz Theatre
in downtown Brunswick. Proceeds benefit the Health System cancer care
Sept. 28, 12-1 p.m.: “Breast Cancer Awareness,” presented by Karen Crosby, R.N.,
BSN breast care navigator.

- Seating is limited and pre-registration is required by calling the YMCA
Community “Pink Out Friday”
Friday, Oct. 14: Team members and the community are encouraged to wear pink to increase

Make Breast Care a Routine for Life
Patients receiving mammograms during October will receive a breast cancer
awareness gift, and those who complete a breast health quiz will be entered
in a drawing to win a gift bag. Drawing will take place at the end of
the month and winner will be notified.
Pretty in Pink
The Health System is decorated for Breast Cancer Awareness Month with large
ribbons in the lobbies of the Brunswick and Camden campuses and the Senior
Care Centers and pink flags on light posts. Nursing teams will wear pink
gloves, surgical teams will wear pink surgical caps, and the cafeterias
will serve pink desserts.
